The Pachuco Ball team welcomes Colorado's Car and Viclas Clubs. The vision for building the Pachuco Ball to a Colorado tradition incorporates and celebrates various parts of Chicano culture and history. The carros and viclas community is a beloved part of Chicano culture. The investment, work, representation of family, and community giving that the members of this community represent not only speak to positive values, but to unique traditions and the historical journey that are part of the Chicano experience and the proud history of a people.

THE PACHUCO BALL IS FASHION 
The heart of the Pachuco Ball is expression - cultural expression, history, and the beauty of Chicano fashion. You can't have a true Pachuco Ball without these to send the message and portrayal of who we are. 
It is said that if people hear the same thing over and over again, over a long period of time, some people will begin to accept it as truth, whether it's a lie or not. For years, powerful people have told America that brown people are easily associated with rape, murder, and drugs. They've minimized the honorable and historic role of Mexican American Chicanos in the story of America and have, for many, distorted truth to an astigmatism. Our kids have been hearing the distortion for years.

This will be a concert track show event entertainment will include West Coast Chicano Soul and Oldies artists Pepe Marquez, Spansih Fly featuring Aki Starr and their new album release celebration, LA's Queen of Souldies Mariah Avila, MC KLY-N-TEL, and Mr. Blue.
The music represents the the genres of "Chicano Soul" and "Classic Oldies" that has been around for time immemorial and was the musical back drop to the lives of many. The music still endures and is being presented by artists of today who bring new life and energy to it.
We all have, and share, a story and a journey. That makes this effort both a community opportunity and an educationally positive way to share these things with our Colorado extended community of all ethnicities and colors. Accordinly, we hope that many attend, and are able to experience this effort with us. All are welcome, it's about people!
The Pachuco Ball is a dress up ballroom affair. The Pachuco Ball is also part of a bigger picture project involving cultural education. The other half of the project is the Calle Cultura Community Education Forum. The forum events are free and are being offered as part of the La Familia 5280 Swap Meet Project and the Calle Cultura Cultural Education Series. The format for this presentation is a moderator coordinated panel discussion and forum that includes an audience Q&A with young people and adult community members, which is intended to raise awareness and speak to the history, resiliency, and determination of the Chicano and Latino spirit.

We are proud to celebrate the release of the new Spanish Fly featuring Aki Starr "Dedicated To You" music album. The music represents the the genres of "Classic Old School" and "Chicano Soul". For generations this is the music that provided the musical back drop to the lives of many. The album is masterful and contains a diverse library of classics from Earth, Wind and Fire, HEATWAVE, to the classics of the great Brenton Wood. They will be here to perform the music at the Pachuco Ball.

The Pachuco Ball group rate, your rate, is $114. There are only 50 rooms in this group block, and they will sell out. To book a room call the hotel desk directly at 303-427-4000. Be sure and mention that you are with the La Familia Ministry Denver group and the Pachuco Ball.
Please help us to say thank you to Deandra, Katy, Joan, and the staff at the DoubleTree by Hilton Westminster for going above and beyond to reach out and make their hotel available to us for the Pachuco Ball. You have been asking us for two years to change hotels, and we now have. The management team and staff have gone out of their way to give us a new and beautiful venue option. 
The event will include a concert dance featuring Pepe Marquez, Aki Starr of Spanish Fly, LA's Queen of Souldies Mariah Avila, and MC KLY-N-TEL.
Our thanks goes out to Riverside County Superior Court Judge Jorge Hernandez and Cultura Con Llantas, Charlene Barrientos Ortiz from University of Colorado Health Sciences, Professor Elizabeth Escobedo, College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, and Dr. Antonio Esquivel, recent Chicano Studies Professor at Metro State University.
This is what they are doing; they're building through a vehicle called the Pachuco Ball. It's a testimony and declaration of Cultura. Gracias a todos Zoot Suit fashion show, courtesy of Sante Fe Nights, Original Suavecito Clothing, and Mi Gente Customs. There will be a judging and prizes for the "Best Dressed Couple In Zoots" and the "Best Dressed Couple In Vestido de Cholo". This will be the first Denver Pachuco Ball fashion show, and we are excited about it. 
Thank you Santa Fe Nights and Señorita Cherie Niola for giving that to us along with Jay and Leanna Salas of Suavecito Clothing and Barrio Bombshells, Sierra and the Rockabilly Vixens models, and all of the models and so many others who are doing a part to bring this to you. They have started a journey that, overtime, will bring Colorado the best fashion show program ever built in our State.

Once you have purchased you must call 303-437-9162 for your seating assignment, and to arrange to pickup your hardcopy tickets and reserved seating passes. This should be done as soon as possible. It is important and will save you time and make things smooth for you. 
IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE OF THE DENVER AREA
It is the same process, however, your seating assignments can be made via telephone and your tickets put at the door on will call for pickup at the door on the day of the event. If you are coming from Pueblo, Southeastern Colorado, New Mexico, or Wyoming and Northern Colorado, we highly recommend that you reserve your hotel rooms early.
